Jaipur | Deluxe
Exclusive, stately, and dare we say it, romantic, this property offers a true sense of history, alongside contemporary comfort and luxury. Exactly as you’d expect in fact, when staying in a palace!
Exploring the rooms, terraces, courtyards and staircases of the 475 year old building, constructed in a combination of Indian and Mughal styles, is an experience in itself; with elaborate mosaics, colourful murals and intricate carvings seemingly waiting around every corner. The two swimming pools are also ripe for discovery, particularly the rooftop infinity pool with impressive views over the surrounding Aravalli Hills.
Despite the palace’s long and impressive pedigree, the bedroom suites are a perfect balance of original features and modern touches. Each has a unique character, but all boast magnificent four poster beds, richly carved furniture, opulent drapery and lavish marble-tiled bathrooms. Royal Suites also benefit from Jacuzzis, and private courtyards with mountain views worthy of any Maharaja or Maharani.
A choice of local delicacies, Asian classics, and tasty European fare is served in the two restaurants, and there are also ample opportunities to eat alfresco. Breakfast is served in the shady courtyard, cocktails can be sipped by the pool and candle-lit dinners enjoyed under the stars, accompanied by wines from the well-stocked cellar.
Those who are keen to make the most of palace life can utilise the well-equipped fitness centre, or relax in the sauna and steam room. Otherwise just outside the palace gates are the cobbled streets of Samode village with its’ traditional markets and artisans, and the pink city of Jaipur is also within easy reach.
