This lovely rural mansion near the Malabar shoreline was built in the 1800s by an English cinnamon trader, and the countryside around it is still dedicated to spice-growing and agriculture.
There are only five guestrooms, each with their original polished wooden floors, and furnished with ornate four-poster beds which are festooned with nets. Decor is simple but comfortable, and the property has plenty of outdoor spaces where you can relax with a book or simply drink in the aromatic atmosphere.
A stay here will immerse you in fantastic Malabari flavours, which you can learn to reproduce in a cookery class with the lady of the house, who is a well-known expert in the local cuisine. Dine on rich authentic curries and local seafood, intriguing desserts and traditional snacks, and explore the local countryside to the ingredients being grown.
In the grounds, you’ll find a beautiful stone-walled swimming pool and sun terrace, and you’ll be a stone’s throw from miles of untainted Keralan beach.
