Boasting a remote location on the pristine white sands of Pantai Kita Mananga Aba, arguably one of Sumba’s best beaches, Mario Hotel’s nearest neighbour is a small village 4 kilometres away! Expect to hear only the sound of the ocean!
Its enviable beachfront setting guarantees ocean views from pretty much anywhere within the hotel including the guest rooms. On a clear day it is (apparently) possible to even view the islands of the Komodo National Park – the next land mass to the north of Sumba. Keep your eyes peeled for dolphins as you sip your morning coffee.
The north-west coast of Sumba is particularly well-known for its untouched coral and plentiful marine life, and as such, the main pastimes at Hotel Mario are water-related. Snorkelling can easily be enjoyed just off the beach and you don’t need to venture too far for fantastic dive opportunities. A dive centre is planned for the hotel in the near future.
Aside from offering snorkelling, diving and fishing excursions, Mario Hotel features a small café serving simple cuisine. The rooms are also fairly basic in facilities but perfectly comfortable, each with a balcony or terrace to maximise those ocean views. Hot water and electricity is generator powered for 12 hours a day.
