Aman Indonesia

Bali, Java, Nusa Tenggara

The Aman brand is the last word in hotel luxury, with many features that take their properties from excellent to exceptional. Their scattering of properties in Indonesia exemplify what they do best: unrivalled locations, ultimate space and privacy, premium facilities and local connections. The fact that it’s possible to book not just a whole resort, but an entire island in one case, encapsulates the level of service Aman Indonesia can offer. The finish is high quality and understated, and everything you could need is within reach.

It’s no exaggeration to describe several of the properties as palatial. Grand spaces with columns and high ceilings; huge open terraces looking out over wild hillsides towards the sea; high-end tented camps with more than a pinch of romantic regal expeditions of the past. Head out into the area to discover history, heritage and culture, catch glimpses of wildlife, and feed your sense of adventure with trekking and watersports. Back at the resorts, unwind in style at sumptuous spas, by private pools and in secluded gardens, enjoying fresh, locally-inspired dishes finely tuned to your preferences. Simply stunning.

Location

In premium positions in Bali, Java, Nusa Tenggara, and a sublime private yacht sailing around East Nusa Tenggara, each Aman Indonesia property makes the most of Indonesia’s most picturesque locations.

Amanjiwo, Java

There is nothing standard about Amanjiwo. This stunning property in Java’s central hills is finished to an extremely high level, with far-reaching views towards Borobudur and the surrounding countryside. Designed to reflect the ancient wonder nestling in the valley below, its buildings are monumental in their own right, with stately stone facades and spacious formal courtyards that wouldn’t look out of place among Borobudur’s magnificent temples. Every villa has its own outdoor pavilion and sunken outdoor tub, and many also feature beautiful private pools. The facilities are stylish yet uncomplicated, from the calm and attentive spa to the serene infinity pool.

Amandira phinisi, Flores Sea & Raja Ampat

The Amandira is the Aman’s beautiful, phinisi-style ship, custom built to be ideal for diving trips out into the Komodo National Park, or around the islands of Raja Ampat. With a dedicated crew onboard to see to every detail, a trip aboard this elegant vessel allows you to get a taste of some of Indonesia’s most phenomenal marinescapes whilst enjoying high levels of comfort and luxury. The cabins are light and airy, avoiding any sense of restricted space with wide windows that let in the sea breeze, while the foredeck lounge is a sublime place to lay and soak up the sun. Dive and snorkel from the boat in search of colourful reefs and marine giants, and head ashore in a rib to explore deserted beaches. Dine in style on excellent local specialties and fresh seafood, and sit on deck after sunset to see the stars appear.

Amanwana, Moyo Island, Nusa Tenggara

Moyo Island, sheltering off the north coast of Nusa Tenggara, is a true unspoilt paradise. The forested interior has hidden waterfalls to discover, and the pristine coast leads to impossibly clear waters teeming with marine life. The Amanwana is the only resort on the island, and brings Aman’s indulgent guest experience to these shores with a light touch. Modelled around the ideals of luxury tented camps, the accommodation is in low-rise canvas lodges, each with sumptuous interiors and a shady terrace. Go diving and snorkelling in the pristine Amanwana Bay with an experienced dive team, explore the seas by chartered boat, find adventure with watersports, and trek into the island’s interior. Unwind with signature treatments at the outdoor spa, and dine on freshly-caught fish on the beach at sunset.
