Koggala | Deluxe

Conceived by a British couple as a sustainable boutique retreat, TRI is perched on the banks of Sri Lanka’s largest lake, Lake Koggala, an easy 35 minute journey by car from Galle. Designed to blend in with the pristine landscape, the tranquil setting and ‘at-one-with-nature’ vibe, is conducive to relaxation and it’s therefore no surprise that the resort’s focus is well-being.

Accommodation comprises of eight incredibly spacious individual suites, four of which have their own private pool, and a further three rooms situated on the top of a central water tower. Built using recycled wood and local materials, with ‘living walls’ and ‘garden roofs’ to complement the natural scenery, they are laid out in a spiral around the resort, positioned to enjoy either sunset or sunrise views.

The cantilevered infinity swimming pool feels like it stretches right out to the lake shore, and there is plenty of deck and terrace space for you to find your own perfect place of peace. Make sure you find time to enjoy the resort’s luxurious spa and steam cavern. There’s also a spacious Yoga Shala, with tree-top canopy views to inspire you. In terms of dining, the lakeside, open-fronted dining room serves a daily changing 6-course dinner that focuses on seasonal, locally sourced ingredients, celebrating local flavours but in a completely reimagined way.

We Say
Tri’s focus may be wellness but you don’t need to be a yoga guru to appreciate this unique retreat and its magnificent setting.
