Ceycat
Mirissa | Other
The waters around Sri Lanka attract some remarkable marine life including blue, killer, and sperm whales, as well as dolphins, flying fish and turtles. Whale-spotting trips off the east and south coasts are understandably a popular excursion and day boats are plentiful. However, overnight sailing experiences in Sri Lanka are few and far between: step in the Ceycat.
This sleek 53-foot catamaran offers whale watching and coastal exploration in style, off the island’s southern coastline. Accommodation comprises of four double cabins that are compact but comfortable and feature an en-suite shower room and toilet. You’ll be well looked after (and well-fed) by a crew of three: the chef works wonders in his small kitchen producing delicious, fresh meals.
There’s plenty of on-board deck space on which to relax and soak up the sunshine as you sail. When you’re not scanning the horizon from the upper deck for a glimpse of a dolphin fin or plumes of water that could possibly be a whale blow, don a snorkel and explore the underwater world, or try your hand at stand-up paddle boarding.
