Hakone | Ryokan
One of the first ryokans in Hakone to utilise the regions abundant hot springs to attract guests, Ichinoyu Honkan was established in 1630 and is now registered as a building of ‘Cultural Heritage’.
Offering both indoor and outdoor shared onsen baths, in addition to private hot spring baths in some of the rooms, guests are never far from a therapeutic soak in the healing waters. In keeping with the heritage of the property, rooms are Japanese style with low level furnishings, tatami floors and futon bedding, although in a nod to modernity they all feature a TV and air-conditioning. The rooms vary in size, with all offering views towards the Hayakawa River that runs beside the property. These river views can also be enjoyed from the 4th floor restaurant whilst dining on traditional Japanese cuisine.
We SayWe would highly recommend booking one of the rooms that features its own private onsen.
