Hotel Nikko

Kanazawa | Deluxe

Hotel Nikko’s location directly in front of Kanazawa Station means the journey from Tokyo aboard the Hokuriku Shinkansen bullet train, a swift 2.5 hour service, is virtually door to door. It couldn’t be more convenient!

Kanazawa’s most luxurious hotel is housed in a slim 30-storey skyscraper, currently the tallest hotel on the Japan Sea side of the country. Whilst it doesn’t quite compare with deluxe properties in the larger cities of Tokyo and Kyoto, service levels at Hotel Nikko are high and the rooms are comfortable and stylish, with modern amenities. Situated on the 17th floor and above, all rooms enjoy views over the city towards the sea and mountains: the higher the floor, the better the views.

Equally impressive as the views is the hotel’s selection of restaurants, offering a choice of French and Chinese, Teppanyaki and Japanese cuisine. The authentic kaiseki Japanese menu at Benkay cuisine is worth sampling. Also recommended is a visit to the top floor bar, Le Grand Chariot, where views of the city nightscape complement a sophisticated drinks menu.

We Say
For the best views, and more sumptuous décor, book a Luxe Room, which are located on the higher floors (26-28).
