Hotel Nakanoshima

Kumano Kodo

'Getting away from it all' is taken to another level at this charming ryokan-style hotel on a tiny, secluded island just off the coast of Katsuura. Each guestroom is furnished with tatami mat flooring, low chabudai tables and futon beds with the addition of modest, western-style washroom. Translucent screen doors slide apart to lead you onto the balcony where you can enjoy sweeping views over the bay and across to the mainland.
These views can also be enjoyed while having a soak in the hotel's outdoor hot-spring baths, named 'Kishu Chomon no Yu' ('listening to the Kishu surf') after the sound of the sea that adds its soporific soundtrack.

Leisure: Outdoor swimming pool, large indoor public bath, open-air hot-spring baths, private baths, outdoor foot-bath, ferry across to hotel, fishing

Rooms: 139 rooms & suites
