Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge

Pokhara | Deluxe

High in the hills near Pokhara, the secluded Tiger Mountain Lodge combines superior facilities and service with stunning views over the peaks of the Himalayas’ Annapurna Massif. Every aspect of the resort reflects their commitment to responsible tourism, from providing guests with reusable water flasks to developing an active and positive engagement with the local community, as well as ensuring minimal waste and efficient energy use.

Clusters of individual cottages are arranged between the trees, creating a sense of unity while maintaining the peace and privacy. The interiors combine tradition and modernity; simplicity and detail. Dark exposed beams, rough slate tiles and polished floorboards contrast against cream and terracotta walls and buff-coloured brickwork. Curtains and soft furnishings in warm colours and bold patterns create a welcoming, homely effect against honey-toned wooden furniture, added to by amber lamplight. The spacious en-suites are stocked with fairly traded soap, handmade by a local community project. Wide double doors lead outside to private terraces, sheltered by the established greenery of the gardens, where guests can enjoy views over the snow-capped mountains.

Locally grown fruit and vegetables are combined in a variety of dishes including international favourites and traditional Nepali Thali. Enjoy Nepalese honey and fresh baked bread for breakfast, curry buffets with homemade chutneys at lunchtime, and leisurely afternoon tea, served with Nepali Ilam infusions, in the main lodge or on your private veranda. Take guided walks through the surrounding forest to local villages, or head further afield to nearby rivers and lakes for a little birdwatching. After a full days hiking, return to the lodge for a massage or settle down in the library to browse through the books collection of the famous Colonel Jimmy Roberts, one of the pioneers of Nepal’s mountaineering industry.

Please note: this hotel is closed during monsoon season, from mid-June to early September.

We Say
Whilst Tiger Mountain Lodge doesn’t offer the endless facilities & hi-tech room amenities of a typical Deluxe hotel, the quality of food & attentive service levels befits a luxury property in our opinion.
