Asia's sleeping beauty
Simple accommodation, a riverfront location and the friendly staff all combine to make this homely hotel a popular choice for visitors to the 4000 Islands. The rooms, though old fashioned in places, are well-equipped and cosy making them welcoming spaces to curl up in.
Neutral walls and dark woods give the décor a minimalist atmosphere, while a few colourful fabric details lift the space and add character. While they all have an en suite shower room only some have a bathtub, so do specify that you’d like one if you look forward to a soak at the end of the day. The well-maintained lawns and peaceful gardens are set back from the riverside walkway by a charming picket-style fence which instantly creates a welcoming, down-to-earth atmosphere.
Apart from the gardens, there is also a secluded outdoor pool and sun-terrace. The restaurant serves a good variety of breakfast options as well as an evening selection of international and Laotian dishes.
You can dine in the hotel restaurant or have your meals brought out to the waterside terrace (just a hop across the quiet street in front of the hotel), which is a superb vantage point for enjoying a couple of cocktails as the sun sets over the river.
