Heritage Madurai

This stylish and characterful hotel has a fascinating architectural backstory. Its original buildings were designed in the 1970s as the Madurai Club, using locally salvaged materials. 30 years on, the building (and its sprawling grounds) have become this beautiful 72-room hotel.
Guest rooms are spacious and simply decorated and luxury villas have their own plunge pool. The restaurant is spacious and opens onto the delightful garden while the large swimming pool is designed to look like a South Indian temple tank.
