Royal Heritage Haveli

Jaipur |

Formerly an 18th century royal hunting lodge, the Royal Heritage Haveli has been tastefully converted into a boutique hotel by its’ regal owners.

In 2006, the niece of Jaipur’s Maharajah, Angelique, and her husband Pradip set about restoring the property (which is still owned by Jaipur’s royal family) and have transformed it into a charming boutique hotel that has the ambiance of a personal home.

Each of the 19 suites are individually decorated. Hand painted frescoes adorn the ceilings; decorative columns, intricate tiling and arched doorways are a nod to the property’s heritage. Flat screen TVs, complimentary wi-fi and air-conditioning add a touch of modernity.

Tucked away in five acres of manicured gardens, the Royal Heritage is an oasis of calm from Jaipur’s busy streets. It’s easy to while away a few hours with a dip in the swimming pool, a game of croquet on the lawns and a treatment in the Ayurvedic spa. Sample a fruity signature cocktail (the watermelon martinis are not to be missed), before settling down to a royal Rajasthani meal in the majestic dining room or al-fresco on the terrace.
