Barefoot at Havelock
Havelock Island | First Class
Surrounded by Havelock Island’s lush greenery, just moments away from azure Andaman waters, Barefoot at Havelock is a welcoming, understated castaway retreat.
The barefoot concept here is literal, with guests asked to remove their shoes as soon as they enter the wooden lobby - a symbol of stepping away from urban life. Wi-Fi is only available in the bar area, making this resort the ideal place for a relaxing digital detox.
The thatched chalets feel secluded and cosy, with high ceilings, woven bamboo walls and hardwood floors. Four-poster beds in dark polished woods are draped with swathes of pale muslin, creating a romantic atmosphere which is enhanced by the warm amber lamplight. Cool, tiled showers open to the warm jungle air highlight the wilderness location, and low loungers on sheltered terraces offer somewhere private to unwind.
With a dedication to sustainability and leaving a light footprint, the Barefoot focuses on appreciating and preserving the beautiful natural landscape in which it rests. The resort chefs create a delicious range of dishes using fish caught just off the coast, as well as meat reared on the resort’s own smallholding, cooked over a wood fire for a smokey flavour.
Wander along the beach feeling the soft sand between your toes, enjoy the cool shade of the dense greenery, and explore life beneath the waves with snorkelling and diving experiences. Wake up to the sound of birdsong every morning, immerse yourself in calm forest bathing or coastal explorations, and end each evening with a walk along the blissfully quiet beach watching starlight twinkle on the waves.
Serene simplicity in picture perfect desert island surroundings, ideal for switching off the tech and recharging your own batteries.
