Why we love it

Discover what to expect from staying at Borneo Rainforest Lodge

Total immersion

Borneo’s jungle landscape is one of the world's most extraordinary ecosystems, and experiencing it directly by staying in the middle of the especially extraordinary Danum Valley - an area of million-year-old rainforest - takes it to another level. Walking across the huge canopy walkway, surrounded by dense greenery, with the rainforest wildlife only a few feet away is something you’ll never forget. Wake to the sounds of birds and gibbons calling through the trees, take guided nature walks through the jungle, and drive out on intrepid night safaris. Stand back to let elephants cross your path, discover weird and wonderful creepy crawlies in the undergrowth, and catch sight of the mesmerising orangutans themselves.

Comfort in the wilderness

One thing you might not expect from a resort in the middle of a rainforest conservation area is a feeling of luxury, but that’s what you get at the Rainforest Lodge. Don’t get us wrong, this isn’t ultimate opulence - we are in the middle of the jungle, after all! - but there is comfort and a feeling of indulgence which comes as a pleasant surprise. The accommodation is minimally styled and spacious, creating little oases where you can have the sounds of the jungle all to yourself. The spa offers relaxing and restorative treatments to give your stay a pampering cherry on the top.
