Borneo Rainforest Lodge

Danum Valley | Superior

There aren’t many properties on our books (or anywhere in the world for that matter) that lay claim to having their own rainforest canopy walk, so you could say that the Borneo Rainforest Lodge was somewhat special! During your stay there is a good chance of spotting wild orang-utan, as well as numerous other species of primates, birds, mammals, butterflies and insects.

The lodge offers comfortable accommodation in well-sized chalets on the banks of the Danum River. The stilted wooden chalets are airy and comfortable, furnished with polished woods and neutral colours, and all feature an en-suite bathroom. Standard and Deluxe chalets are fan cooled, whilst the larger, newer Premium rooms and villas are climate controlled. For something extra special splash out on one of the three minimalist-style Premium Villas that boast an outdoor tub beside a large viewing deck.

Along with the outstanding natural surroundings, surprisingly good dining and a pleasant ambiance, the lodge also offers guests a whole host of ‘entertainment’ options including jungle walks, bird watching, night walks and safari drives, all with qualified, resident nature guides. In addition, the incredible canopy walkways set high above the jungle floor (26 metres at the highest point) allow for viewing of the rainforest from a number of wooden platforms suspended in the treetops.

We Say
A truly delightful lodge; surprisingly luxurious accommodation and restaurant in the heart of a primary rainforest.
