Malaysia visa & entry requirements

Malaysia visa information

Citizens of the UK, most EU countries, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the United States do not require a visa to visit Malaysia for a stay of up to three months.

Notable exceptions are citizens from Greece & Portugal who can stay visa-free for up to one month only.

All other nationalities should check with the Malaysian Embassy in their country of residence or with their Selective Asia consultant. You will need one clear page in your passport, which must be valid for at least another six months after your return.

Tourism taxes in Malaysia - payments to be made locally

Malaysia charges several tourism taxes that have to be paid locally, either upon check-in or check-out of each of your hotels. These cannot therefore be included in your Selective Asia costs. The amounts are relatively small, however we don't like to leave you with any unexpected surprises.

Firstly there is the Malaysia Govt Tourism Tax of RM 10 per room per night (approx £2 per night). There are also local council or heritage taxes, usually in the region of RM 2 - 5 per room per night (40p - £1).
We are not able to collect these taxes in advance, and all payments must be made locally at your hotels.
