Philippines weather & when to go: May
May is one of the hottest months of the year in the Philippines, with temperatures often reaching 34°C and high humidity levels, particularly around Manila.
May's weather in detail
Locations at higher altitudes - such as the Cordillera region, and coastal areas such as the resorts of Palawan and Siargao experience slightly more bearable temperatures but essentially it's hot, hot, hot throughout the country.
Towards the end of May, with wet season just around the corner, rainfall is not uncommon, but the rains help break the humidity making life a little more comfortable.
In a party mood? Then don’t miss the vibrant Flores de Mayo festivals that take place across the Philippines during May. Every region organises its own celebrations which involves thousands of colourful flowers and a variety of musical and cultural events.
