The Majestic Malacca

Malacca

Entertaining guests since the 1950s, this 1920s grand mansion is one of two exceptionally deluxe offerings in historic Malacca. After a sometimes busy and congested arrival in this busy port town, the pastel coloured, cool hotel lobby with its ample indoor foliage and period furniture seems like an oasis.

The exquisite rooms and suites at The Majestic Malacca are very much in keeping with the hotel's original heritage, with dark woods, four poster beds, luxurious fabrics and detailed furnishings. Even with culinary Malacca on your doorstep, the hotel’s excellent restaurant should be visited at least once. The exceptional Kristang cuisine of the region is beautifully represented by the the head chef.

Location

Slightly north of the main hustle, within walking distance of the historic centre and dining opportunities galore, the Majestic puts you in prime position to see the best of Malacca.

Loved Malaysia, loved Malacca, and loved the Majestic. Would definitely recommend the restaurant too.

Why we love it

Discover what to expect from staying at The Majestic Malacca

Somewhere to call home for a while…

There’s nothing better than a great location combined with fantastic accommodation; somewhere you can really look forward to coming back to after a night out in Malaysia’s famous port. The Majestic is an elegant inclusion to the plethora of heritage hotels in Malaysia. While the accommodation tower is modern, the entrance and public rooms are a riot of nostalgia, and high tea in the library is a must.

What can you do there?

The hotel is a great base for seeing the historic city of Malacca, and it’s the city that takes centre stage, but a relaxing, pre-dinner swim after venturing out is surely the order of the day, perhaps after taking high tea in the library? The hotel also offers a free walking tour of the city each evening at 5pm.
