Penang | First Class
Tucked away behind heavily carved wooden doors, in a walled garden, Noordin Mews is a boutique gem. This 1920’s Peranakan shop house, like its neighbouring buildings, has been sensitively restored and oozes charm and culture.
Décor stays true to Penang’s heritage with colonial style floor tiles, plantation window shutters and quirky antique pieces that evoke a true sense of place. Restored furniture also adorns the 16 rooms, sitting alongside more modern amenities such as the flat screen television.
When you’re not exploring the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Georgetown on the doorstep, you can easily while away a few hours with a book, lounging beside the outdoor pool or curled up on a sofa in the library. A relaxed breakfast is served poolside, but lunch and dinner are not available. This isn’t a problem as you’re surrounded by good local eateries and the wonderfully friendly staff will happily offer dining recommendations as well as other useful tips.
We SayA boutique gem that prides itself on its personalised service and attention to detail.
