Jims Farm Villas

Matale | Superior

A unique organic family farm set in the lush heart of Sri Lanka’s Cultural Triangle, Jim’s Farm offers eco-friendly luxury in a beautifully relaxed natural setting.

Accommodation consists of just three contemporary villas: one is set on the green hilltop beside the pool; a second overlooks the farm’s spice gardens; and the third enjoys wonderful views from its ridgetop setting. All were made by local craftsmen, as were the simple but elegant furnishings, and each room looks out across delightful landscaped gardens. Decor is calm but welcoming - warm neutral colours, natural woods and local artworks - and both buildings benefit from large terraces and balconies.

Meals are homemade and delicious, utilising fresh ingredients from the farm and its gardens. Mangoes, papaya, bananas, coconuts and black pepper are amongst the crops cultivated on the farm. Resident cows provide the milk, and eggs come from their free-range chickens. Breakfast is served at private tables on the terrace of one of the villas; whilst the four-course dinner is generally a communal affair.

The Farm is around an hour or less from Sigiriya, Dambulla and Kandy, making it a superb base for exploring the Cultural Triangle region. However, there are plenty of things to do on the Farm itself, from learning to cook Sri Lankan cuisine with the resident chef, looking out for the 90+ bird species typically spotted within the grounds, to exploring the local countryside on one of the Farm bicycles or enjoying an Ayurvedic treatment in the Bamboo Spa.

We Say
We love the hotel's tuk-tuks that are used to zip around the 50-acre farm!
