Amaya Lake
Kandalama | Superior
Any lakeside resort that is spread across 45 acres is likely to have a natural lean to it, and the Amaya Lake is no exception: the gardens are literally teeming with wildlife. Consisting of 106 chalets, there's plenty of space for all and a large helping of relaxation, thanks in part to the large pool and deck area.
The chalets are a good size with suitable amenities and, whilst the furnishings are perhaps a little dated in places, they are more than adequate for a night or two for those wishing to base their Cultural Triangle explorations in Dambulla. There is also an open-air restaurant and a range of leisure facilities, including nature trails and a spa treatment facility.
