Krabi: An Introduction

Undoubtedly, the most distinguishing feature of both Krabi and neighbouring Phang Nga are the huge, unworldly limestone karsts, rising up out of the sea. Throw in more than their fair share of world class beaches, great diving, a unique local cuisine and a variety of adventure sports and it’s easy to understand why Krabi is amongst Thailand's most popular beach resorts. It has achieved this whilst keeping the less desirable elements of entertainment to be found in central Phuket and Koh Samui to an absolute minimum.
A number of very high standard resorts located away from the centre of Krabi itself make a stay here a very pleasant experience and those in need of a little entertainment will discover that the town centre is home to a lively bar and restaurant scene.
