Chiang Rai: An Introduction

The province of Chiang Rai is located within the renowned ‘Golden Triangle’ area where Myanmar, Laos and Thailand converge. Chiang Rai city is a pretty 'laid back' destination with interesting markets and some good hotel options. It now competes with Chiang Mai as a tourist hub and is fast becoming a popular escape for travellers wanting to get escape the crowds of the more established Chiang Mai.
