Located on the idyllic sands of Con Son Island, the Six Senses Con Dao has raised the bar of excellence in Vietnam, sending shock waves across the entire region. The long-awaited, luxurious resort is a very welcome addition to what is unquestionably Vietnam's least-developed beach destination and, as with all of the Six Senses properties, it has been crafted with careful consideration to the environment and local community. Eco-tourism is key at the Six Senses Con Dao, in particular protecting the island's wildlife - above and below the surface.
If perfection is achievable, then this is it: 50 spacious, glass-fronted villas, each with its own private infinity pool, lining the picture-perfect coastline with nothing but the odd brightly coloured fishing boat to distract you from views across the South China Sea and the archipelago beyond. The decor throughout is calming and minimalist, with a lean towards natural fibres and products wherever possible.
The restaurant is perched elegantly atop a sand dune, and overlooks a breathtaking swimming pool and terrace. The holistic Six Senses Spa provides a truly relaxing and revitalizing experience, focusing on therapeutic treatments to balance the senses. To round off the experience, the "Market Area" is a typical rural Vietnamese village complete with a main street and square.
