Ideal for guests looking to get back to nature and spend a few days exploring the laid-back southern province of Champasak; the Kingfisher, located in Phou Asa just an hour from Pakse, has an even more tranquil pace of life than elsewhere in southern Lao…if this is possible!

Entering the village, also known as 'elephant village', is like stepping back in time and a ride on the celebrated star attractions can easily be arranged during your stay. Offering a range of accommodation options, the lead being the simply superb 'comfort bungalows'; extremely stylish, individual wooden bungalows with glass fronts, four-poster beds, solar heated showers and all finished in a rustic Laotian style. The restaurant doubles as a wildlife viewing platform and there are a number of activities to choose from, including elephant riding lessons, mountain biking and bird watching!

We Say

"The comfort bungalows are very special indeed - wake up to a fully panoramic view of the surrounding countryside (and a sprinkling of elephants if you're lucky!)."
