The Boat Landing Guest House has a lot to live up to - it's not every day you earn the accolade of being Jo Cummins' favourite property in South-East Asia (Cummins writes for the Lonely Planet). Fortunately, the boat landing doesn't disappoint.
Set on the banks of the Nam Tha River, just a short drive from the pretty town of the same name, the guesthouse is the premier eco tourism lodge in Laos' north-western-most province, with excellent access to the Nam Ha Protected Area, the Nam Tha River and Lao ethnic villages. Accommodation is basic but excellent, and a restaurant serves some of the best, authentic Laos food you are likely to find anywhere in the country.
