The lovely Orient Pandaw is a hand-finished Colonial-style river cruiser, its traditional appearance hiding precise, modern engineering and fantastically comfortable luxury accommodation. Each of its polished wooden cabins has views out across the water, although most guests prefer to watch the leafy banks unfurl from the promenade or sun deck, perhaps with a cocktail in hand.
The Pandaw’s shallow hull lets it explore parts of the Rajang River that deeper hulled vessels cannot reach, taking you deep into the rainforest for the chance to witness orang-utans, sun bears and a vibrant array of birdlife, amongst many other creatures, within their natural habitat. It won’t all be water-based - guided treks into the jungle, visits to conservation projects and fascinating insights into local culture are all on the menu too. You’ll get to meet the tribesmen who live deep in the jungle and may even shoot some gentle rapids, conditions permitting, in 'Adventurer', the Pandaw’s expedition boat.
The on-board laundry, bakery and excellent restaurant will ensure that you stay clean and well fed as well as relaxed and perpetually fascinated.
