Butterfly Valley Resort

Ruisui | Superior

In its beautiful mountain setting, the Butterfly Valley Resort is a comfortable base from which to hike and bike the country roads and riverside trails of Hualien County. The resort has its own natural hot spring baths, with nine geothermal pools where you can relax after a day’s exploring.

Butterfly Valley is located in the Fuyuan National Forest Recreation area, which contains the largest camphor forest in Taiwan. The resort has its own ecological museum, which provides information about the local butterflies and other fauna.

The property is stylishly designed and blends in well with its surroundings. Guest rooms are decorated with calm colours and interesting textures, with smooth wood and warm stone to reflect the natural setting.

Hot springs are an important part of visiting central Taiwan, with geothermal pools valued for their healing mineral properties and generally relaxing ambience. Butterfly Valley has nine pools, which reach up to 60°C, and enjoy a good reputation for their health and beauty benefits.

The airy restaurant serves tasty regional cuisine made of organic veg and fruit, and the bar has a nice terrace overlooking the valley.
