Landesi means ‘of Dutch origin’ in Sinhala, and this boutique hotel certainly draws on this heritage. It graces the vicinity of the ancient 17th century Dutch fort (that is now a UNESCO World Heritage site). The stately house expertly retains the classic features of the period with reclaimed wood hand crafted in to intricate trelliswork and 18-foot pillars typical of Dutch architecture in Sri Lanka.

Four plush bedrooms have been beautifully restored and are positioned to overlook the colonnaded gardens and the nearby historic Dutch Reformed Church. Inside, the walls adorned by art from famous local artists enhances this intimate hotel’s cultural appeal.
