August's weather in detail

August sees an increased chance of typhoons, especially towards the end of the month.

You'll be lucky to escape the rain if you visit the Philippines during August, however for the best chance of sunshine and less intense downpours head to the southerly islands of Siargao, Bohol and Cebu, where the effects of the wet season tend to be a little less dramatic. In addition to this August is also a good time for surfing in Siargao.

 Where's the sun and sand?

Bohol, Cebu, Siargao (for surfing)
