Arranged along the riverbank, the Bagan Thande’s wooden bungalows are fairly simple – think ‘posh holiday camp’ – but with modern additions. There are good-sized en-suite bathrooms, and verandahs with views of the river or gardens.

When you’re not exploring Bagan you can relax by the outdoor pool or on the sundeck, with a treatment at the spa, or with a walk in the garden. Dining on the outdoor terrace as the sun sets over the Ayeyarwady river is pretty special.
