It’s a member of the ‘Marriott Autograph Collection’ – an arm of the brand which acquires high-quality, independent hotels and preserves their character. Despite being relatively large, the hotel manages a boutique feel throughout. It has really gone all out with the artful interior and impressive attention to detail.

Hotel Stripes has been a reliable stalwart for Selective Asia over the last few years. Stylish, reasonably priced, high quality and a fantastic location are ingredients for a great city stay.

The rooftop infinity pool is among the best anywhere, offering mesmerising views after a day in the city. A swim followed by some pre-dinner drinks is a must, but it can get very busy at certain times and getting a good place to sit can be a challenge, so get there early to bag a spot.
