Japan visa information

**Japan has suspended the visa waiver system for anyone travelling on a British passport until end of April. Single & multiple entry visas have also been suspended **

Is an entry visa required for Japan?

Citizens of the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the United States and most European countries do not require a visa to visit Japan for up to 90 days.

Notable exceptions are citizens from Russia, China and the Philippines who have to apply for a visa directly with the Japanese Embassy in their country of residence.

All other nationalities should check with the Japanese Embassy in their country of residence for the most up-to-date information.

What is required to arrange the visa?

In the event of a visa being required (see above), arrangements should be made with the Japanese Embassy in your country of residence in advance of your departure to Japan.
