Is an entry visa required for India?

Your passport must be valid for a minimum of six months from your arrival date into India, and must have at least two blank pages.

How do I obtain my e-Tourist Visa?

Visit the following website https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/evisa/tvoa.html and complete the online form. Give yourself plenty of time as it’s a lengthy form! You will also need to upload a recent photograph (a head shot taken against a white background), and an image of the photo page of your passport that holds all your personal information. Payment will be required by credit or debit card. It’s important that you apply at least 4 days in advance of your arrival date, giving enough time for visa processing. Confirmation of your e-Tourist Visa will be emailed to you. You will need to print off this confirmation and produce it on arrival into India.

e-Tourist Visa

In 2014, the Government of India launched an e-Tourist Visa, which can be used by nationals of 113 countries to enter India at 26 airports.

How long is the e-Tourist visa valid for?
There are three durations available: 30 days, 1 year or 5 years. The e-Tourist visa is valid from the date of entry into India. The 30-day visa is issued for a double entry; the long term visas are valid for multiple entries.

Can everyone use the e-Tourist Visa service?
Citizens of the UK, EU countries, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the United States and many other nationalities can use the e-Tourist Visa. If you are of Pakistani origin or have Pakistani family then you must apply for a traditional Indian visa. If you need further clarification please speak to your destination specialist.

What is the cost of the e-Tourist Visa?
The visa fee depends on your nationality and the duration of your visa. For UK & US passport holders the fee for a 30-day e-Tourist Visa is US$10 per person during low season and US$25 per person during high season. The fee for a one-year e-Tourist Visa is US$40 per person, and US$80 per person for the five-year e-Tourist Visa.
