The Prize

The winner (and one lucky companion!) will launch their Borneo adventure in style by meeting the island's most famous residents, at Sepilok Orang-utan Sanctuary, where you'll learn about the project's exceptional rehabilitation work with orphaned and injured orang-utans. You'll stay at My Nature Resort, which is just a short drive away, allowing you a few days to get acquainted with the stars of Sepilok before you set off into the heart of the Danum Valley Conservation Area to discover the world-renowned Borneo Rainforest Lodge, a luxurious eco-resort deep in the jungle. Spend your days (and evenings!) here spotting wildlife - which may include gibbons, red leaf monkeys, macaques and orang-utans, not to mention all kinds of colourful birds- from viewing platforms on the lodge's incredible treetop canopy walkway, and on guided treks through the forest.

Change the pace for a few nights of utter relaxation and luxury at the secluded Bunga Raya Resort on jungle-clad Gaya Island, which lies in a Marine National Park just off Borneo's north coast. This is the place to laze on the superb white sandy beaches, stroll along nature trails in the jungle, take to the ocean to kayak and snorkel, or even zipline through the forest! And for the grand finale, we're sending our winner to the unblemished island of Pulau Tiga, where you'll be reclining in the lap of super-luxury at the Borneo Eagle Resort, an exclusive tropical hideaway.

Discover the Best of Sabah

Stepping onto Sabah is an experience like no other. Here you'll find a superb combination of idyllic beaches, orang-utan encounters, luxury rainforest hotels, canopy walks and some of the best wildlife spots in the world. Wildlife and conservation enthusiasts will want to head to Danum Valley which offers near-guaranteed sightings of wild elephant and orang-utan, while Sepilok Orang-utan Sanctuary is a lovely chance to see conservation in action. It’s also famous for Mount Kinabalu; the highest mountain in Malaysia, but a surprisingly do-able climb. Those looking for some mild adventure, can watch the (wild) world go by on board of a boat floating through the seriously impressive Kinabatangan River where you can try to spot saltwater crocodiles, orang-utans, macaques and proboscis monkeys hanging on treetops. Borneo's coast is just as enticing as its jungle interior, with idyllic sandy beaches and gorgeous tropical resorts, perfect for lazy days after your rainforest adventure.
