Nepal visa & entry requirements

Nepal visa information

Is an entry visa required for Nepal?

All foreign nationals (with the exception of Indian passport holders) will require a visa to enter Nepal.

How do I arrange the visa?

A visa can also be arranged on arrival into Nepal at Kathmandu’s Tribhuvan Airport and at some land borders. During peak tourist season should be prepared for long queues at the airport.

What is required to arrange the visa?

All details of how to do this from the UK can be found at https://uk.nepalembassy.gov.np/visa/.

By far the most efficient approach is to complete ‘Tourist Visa Application Form' online before travelling to Nepal. You complete the online form at https://nepaliport.immigration.gov.np/online (within 15 days of travelling).  Alternatively you can make the application at one of the automatic registration machines on arrival, which will also take your digital photo.

It is essential that your passport is valid for a minimum of six months from your arrival into Nepal and you will need a whole page free for the visa.,

What is the cost of the visa?

A multi-entry visa valid for 15 days costs US$30 per person and US$50 per person for 30 days.  You must pay for your visa at the Cashier Desk in the arrivals hall before joining the Visa on Arrival queue. You will need to present your receipt of application to the cashier.

The fee is payable in US Dollars or Nepalese Rupee
