What's included

Loas public bus

We endeavour not to hide any additional costs that may surprise you during your time away. Every Selective Asia itinerary, full tour dossier and booking confirmation will mark clearly what is and isn’t included in the cost of your trip. Inclusions do vary between trips and therefore we ask you to carefully check your specific trip details.

Transport

All aspects of transport specifically marked in your itinerary will be included in the price. This could include car and van/minibus, rafting, boat, bicycle, train and tuk-tuk rides!

Internal/domestic flights in Asia

Some itineraries include the cost of these flights and some will show an indication of the cost next to the main trip price - the reason for this is that in some instances the price of the flights can fluctuate until a confirmed booking is made by us. We will arrange these flights for you in all instances.

International flights

Long haul flights (to and from your home country) are never included in the price specified, however we can arrange ex-UK flights for all our guests if required. Selective Asia can arrange flights from all major and regional UK airports. We hold ATOL license # 9203, issued by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). ATOL - which is short for "Air Travel Organisers Licensing" - exists to protect you, the customer, from losing money or being stranded abroad because of the failure of air travel firms.

Accommodation

All hotels, home stays and any overnight journeys will be included in the cost of your holiday. You will receive full details of all the hotels to be used on your itinerary.

Additional nights

If you would like us to arrange some additional accommodation for you at either end of any of our itineraries please let your consultant know and they will be happy to help.

Meals and drinks

A variety of meals are included in your itinerary, the number of which differs from one trip to another. They are clearly marked on a day to day basis.

Guides and drivers

The cost of your guides and your drivers are included for the duration of your holiday.

Please note: You are welcome to tip your guide if you wish to and it is very much appreciated. However, it is not a requirement and is left entirely to your discretion. If you feel unduly pressurised into doing so at any stage, please report the incident to us.

A suitable tip would be in the region of $5 per day for your guide and $3 for your driver.

Visas

Visas are not included in the cost of these trips. These will need to be arranged prior to your departure for your trip although some countries, at certain borders, allow you to arrange them upon entry. These details will be clearly marked on your itinerary. For some general information on visas click here

Extras

Aside from the various meals that are not included in your holiday itinerary, you will require very little additional money - just a handful of change each day to cover the cost of drinks. Having said that, we think it is very likely that you will succumb to the temptation of local souvenirs and tasty local goodies and would therefore recommend you carry a little extra. To give an amount is tricky as the sky is the limit, but for basics we would suggest that $5 a day is sufficient.

  • A beer will cost under $2 in most locations
  • A coffee will cost under $1 in most locations
  • A bottle of water will cost you approx $1 in most locations
  • A local dish will cost between $3 and $7 in many local restaurants throughout Asia
