Phan Thiet & Mui Ne: An Introduction
Lying just 200km north of Ho Chi Minh City, Mui Ne is a pleasant fishing port that is home to both ethnic Vietnamese and a community of fishermen between the months of July and October. The town is famous for its large red sand dunes and also for producing some of the best fish sauce in Vietnam (and that’s saying something!). In the early morning the port is a hive of activity as fisherman land their nights catch and the locals make their way to market to purchase the freshest produce.
For many the real attraction is the nearby Mui Ne Peninsula and its 11km of shallow sandy beaches that run from the port of Mui Ne to the more industrial town of Phan Thiet. At the end of the peninsula are stunning sand dunes that offer commanding views down the coast and of the growing number of kite and wind surfers that have discovered the very favourable conditions for their passion!
We say: 'Phan Thiet and Mui Ne is home to some of the very finest beaches in Vietnam. There are a range of excellent hotel and resort options on the beach with something to suite every budget.'
What's not to love? Great beaches, world class resorts of all standards, and some of the finest seafood in all Asia.
