Undoubtedly the pick of the luxury resorts on Phu Quoc, the Colonial-style La Veranda is set amidst lush tropical gardens that lead onto an 80-metre stretch of the island's most popular beach. The resort consists of a two-storey ‘block’ of deluxe rooms, with garden villas and individual suites leading down to the sea. The attention to detail throughout is impressive, and you wouldn’t be the first guest to presume that you were staying in an original hotel from the early 20th century.
Guest rooms and suites all have an outside veranda or balcony and, once inside, you are greeted by soft, pastel tones that complement the cool, airy ambiance perfectly. Accommodation also benefits from luxurious, understated furnishings, while artwork and any additional fittings are used sparingly, allowing the feature floor tiles to take centre stage.
In the main house, you'll find the colourful Art Deco style Le Bar, with fantastic sea and sunset views, the island's finest spa (with an additional beach spa close by), and the beachside pool and terrace. Dining is also highly rated, with a choice of French and Vietnamese dishes available.
