Why Asia?
The people
Generous, welcoming and fun natured. Your guide will undoubtedly introduce you to a wide array of people during any of our trips. However, you'll find locals coming up to you throughout any day, genuinely pleased to meet someone showing an interest in their country, and in return they will want to hear about yours. You'll find it hard not to make new friends on a daily basis.
The culture
With so much of our cultural heritage diluted in the West, many visitors to Asia pinpoint the cultural differences as their main interest whilst travelling with us. Asia is like a living and breathing classroom, and you will find yourself getting wrapped up in the 'Asian way'.
Architecture
The Wats, the temples and the monuments are uniquely Eastern and mesmerise guests. For those planning on seeing the city of Angkor, don’t be surprised to feel a tear rolling down your face at sunrise.
It’s a wonderful surprise to find that in most instances you get to truly experience the sites you visit—rarely are you kept behind a rope.
Old meets new in some of the world’s most exciting cities and the outcome is electrifying…the pace, the smells and the activities.
The cuisine
The food you’ll experience is second to none; we challenge anyone that says otherwise! No two meals need be the same with a seemingly endless variety of mouth-watering dishes of fresh produce, presented like a fine work of art. Let the drooling begin.
A rising star
Whilst Thailand has enjoyed its popular status for many years now (and continues to enjoy it due to its ability to keep offering up fresh experiences), it is only now that Indochina has started to make some noises of its own. Not only do you get to visit these destinations before the crowds arrive but you also explore at a time when you can literally smell the potential in the air….it’s an exciting time to visit. Just spend an afternoon sitting around Koan Kiem Lake in Hanoi and you’ll know exactly what we mean.
Value
Aside from the fact that by travelling with Selective Asia is very affordable, from shopping to eating out, the value for money here is outstanding - the £, $ and euro go a long way!
Climate
The whole region has fantastic weather, with plenty of blue sky and sunshine. As we all know, it’s never guaranteed, but for somewhere such as Nha Trang (Vietnam), which has, on average, over 290 days of sunshine a year, you stand a very good chance!
Landscapes
The landscape seems more breathtaking at every turn you take, from the highest mountains in the world to wonderful, remote beaches via jungles and rainforests. Spellbinding. Activities, trekking, kayaking and biking – we can tailor literally anything you want.
