There are alternative beach options to the Thai Islands, with extra flights easily avoided.

Not all our guests holiday in Thailand for its wonderful beaches, but for many they’re undoubtedly a major draw. Classic Phuket, Krabi & Ko Samui are usually reached via an internal flight from Bangkok, but the alternatives are surprisingly easy to reach. Cha Am, Hua Hin, & Pranburi, between 2.5 - 3.5 hours drive south-west of Bangkok, offer white sands that stretch for miles & varying degrees of activity & seclusion. Hua Hin, with its royal palace & range of leisure activities, is by far the most developed, with established Cha Am a long way back in second place, & Pranburi trailing like a barely populated speck in the distance!
