Just 45 minutes upriver from the bustling town of Kanchanaburi, the Resotel is a world away from the bustling streets and touristy restaurants close to the bridge. Set on the banks of the River Kwai Noi and amongst well maintained gardens consisting of a wide variety of plants and herbs (including 300 differing species of palm trees from around the world!), any stay is offers an unpretentious opportunity to get back to nature.
Thanks to careful planning and clever use of space, guestrooms offer a good level of privacy, each with a private veranda looking onto the gardens. Rooms are spacious and the furnishings are predominantly crafted using locally sourced materials. Amenities are of a high standard as are the resorts general facilities, with overall age preventing us from considering it a superior property.
Elsewhere there is a riverside terrace and pool, an open air restaurant and a spa. For those with itchy feat you are within easy reach of many historical highlights of the region and close by there is the impressive Lawa Cave to explore.
