Spend a truly unique night or two on the River Kwai…quite literally on the River Kwai! These stationary jungle rafts are a home on water, offering rustic rooms with basic but extremely comfortable facilities and your own private veranda. Local materials are used throughout with readily available bamboo cleverly utilised in a huge variety of different ways.
The rafts are split into 2 sections to avoid overcrowding, each with its own restaurant and bar. Thai massage is available and whilst there is no electricity the cooling evening river breeze more than negates the need for air-conditioning. During your stay you are encouraged to visit the nearby Burmese Mon community where there is a small school, temple and you can even take a ride on one of the elephants. Back ‘on board’ you find two restaurant rafts, several lounges/bars and a Mon dancing theatre…oh, and the largest swimming pool in Thailand (OK, it’s the river!).
