It’s not often that we get truly excited by a city centre hotel, however Englishman David Lees and his wife Pariya have created something quite remarkable in the very heart of the bustling metropolis that is Bangkok.
The Ariyasom Villas, located at the far end of one of Sukhamvit's less congested streets, is a boutique hotel-cum-home filled with the decades worth of David’s Asian artefacts collection. It is evident that throughout the construction that surrounds the original house, completed in late 2008, not a single corner was cut and the attention to detail is quite staggering. The result however, does not leave you scared to touch anything as if you were in a gallery; you immediately feel at ease and the sense of calm that radiates throughout the property is a welcome one after another hectic day in the city.
Each room is unique and all are very generous in size and facilities, there is a beautiful spa alongside the courtyard pool, there is even a meditation room with quarters for the monks.
