Previously a residence of Prince Soupha- Nouvong, Satri House underwent extensive renovation in 2008. The result is magnificent and for our money the hotel instantly became a serious contender for Luang Prabang’s boutique hotel crown.
Whilst it doesn’t boast many of the ‘bells and whistles’ of some of the city’s recent 5* additions, the Satri House brings a touch of class to the table so often overlooked in newer developments. Unquestionably a deluxe hotel, the Satri House offers a true oasis of royal magnitude in the very heart of the UNESCO protected City.
Six Colonial-style houses surround two swimming pools, and following this classic theme, bedrooms are furnished with 4-poster beds, ceramic floors and soft pastel colours. The thoughtfully positioned high quality local handicrafts, instantly take you back to a bygone era - one without television (although these are available on request).
On site there are the eponymously titled spa and restaurant; and a very pleasant poolside terrace, the perfect spot for lunch or a welcome evening G & T. All-in-all, it’s rather splendid!
