A unique eco property located on the banks of the Mekong River, Kamu Lodge is just two hours upstream from Luang Prabang. The lodge consists of a bevy of thatched, solar-powered safari ‘tents’ (they’re more like canvas & rattan cabins, with verandas) hidden within lush jungle. Their stone bathrooms have hot showers, & a fresh dinner of local produce is served on the open air terrace. There’s even a bar, where you can relax & watch the sun set over a thriving wilderness full of birds, butterflies, beautiful plants & rare amphibians.
During your stay you can choose from a selection of activities, including trekking, gold panning, kayaking and rice cultivation. Some of the lodge’s revenue goes into a fund for educating local children
