Introduction
60 minutes by speedboat from the Sabah coast and 20 minutes from both Mabul and Sipadan Islands, you come across a water-village, literally out of the blue! Kapalai Dive Resort is a remarkable "village" built completely over water on a shallow sand bank. Originally conceived with divers in mind, the resort now receives almost equal numbers of divers, non-divers and honeymooners. Many are just looking for a beautiful and unusual place to relax after exploring the wilds of Sabah. Numerous world famous dive-sites are within easy reach and the snorkelling around the "village" is spectacular,with rays and turtles amongst the common sightings. A small man made sand-island is an ideal spot for sunbathing, or watching the sunset with a cool drink in hand.
You won't get a much more unusual property. The diving is world class, but non-divers also love the laid back atmosphere and the outstanding snorkelling.
