Vietnam Holiday and Travel Reviews

At Selective Asia we appreciate that every day of your holiday is precious, and getting your itinerary right is probably the most important factor to a successful holiday in this exciting but sometimes confusing country.
'If it hadn't been for the help and advice Lionel gave us re visiting Vietnam we probably would not have gone. He was excellent.'

'We loved it; esp. the off the beaten track parts. It was a really busy trip but that's what we wanted and Nick's suggestion of 3 days at the beach was a God-send!
Highlights: Trekking in Sapa, kayaking in Halong Bay, relaxing in Phan Thiet and hanging out in Hanoi.'

'Lionel was extremely helpful, polite, thorough and knowledgable, it was a pleasure having him organising our trip.'

'Hi Lionel, Actually I have been meaning to email you. To say you advised me really well for our holiday in Vietnam - to think I even considered a home stay! I would have died so thank you for that.
My guide in Vietnam I thought was a special guy. I really enjoyed him. He did you proud. He actually said some of you were over at the hotel as I left. But he only said it later in the day – otherwise I would have checked if you were there. Anyway, hope your trip was a good as mine. I really did enjoy it. And again, thanks for the help. Be back to you sometime for sure.'

'We have travelled the far east on several occasions but the service we have received from you and Selective Asia is second to none. I have given your name to everyone that has asked what our holiday was like so hopefully you will in inundated with holiday requests.'

Your dedicated guide will help you get the most from your time in Vietnam, whether it is explaining the fascinating history, showing you the historic sight, or simply helping choose the best restaurant for supper.
'All our guides were very good but Trung in Saigon stood out for his knowledge, ability to communicate and for the trouble he took to familiarise us with the Vietnamise way of life.'
Ian M.
'Our guide in Vietnam, Mr Chau made our experience in Vietnam very exciting. He was very knowledgable and was very passionate about ensuring we were getting a true taste of Vietnam, it's people & history. He always went that extra mile.'
Greg V.
' We had a guide in Hoi An & Hue called Mr Hai, and he was fantastic. He was so passionate about the history and culture of his region, as well as the rest of Vietnam that we felt we were totally submersed in the Vietnamese culture. He went above and beyond what we asked. When the Vietnamese office failed to locate us an athletics track that we used for training, Mr Hai took it upon himself to arrange this for us. We could not have asked for a kind passionate guide. He needs a raise.'
Kieron C and Tamara W.
'Our guide in Hue (Trung) deserves special mention as he was extremely informative and even spent an extra few hours showing us around Hoi An when we arrived and recommending restaurants etc. So many highlights but a couple would be Halong Bay and the Water Puppet visit which was amazing, helped by the fact that as it was a Sunday it seemed like most of the village came out to watch it with us.'

There are so many hotels to choose from in Vietnam and so many websites offer conflicting advice and often fake or misleading reviews. Our staff have been there, personally inspected the hotels, and often slept in the beds.
'We loved the holiday, the organization was perfect, the hotel choice was great. The highlight is the Halong Bay trip and the Ginger junk
The Metropole hotel in Hanoi was particularly exceptional, as well as the Ginger junk.'

' Highlights - Cham exhibition in Danang; Room at Victoria Phan Thiet; The 'Ginger' at Ha Long Bay; The food at the Victoria Phan Thiet; the friendliness of the people everywhere; the fin de siecle elegance of the Metropole; Saigon; the 8th floor bar at the Majestic in Saigon; swimming in bathwater warm pools in Phan Thiet. Vietnamese food! (Albeit there was just tooooooo much.....)'
Caroline J.
'The location of the Zephyr hotel in Hanoi was particularly good and the standard of accomodation was excellent.
I would be happy to recommend Selective Asia and will definitely forward some pictures for your website.'

' We had an absolutely fantastic time and I can't say I'm too thrilled to be back. It went so quickly! It really was everything we hoped for. I have to say the Park Hyatt in HCMC was a very special way to end a perfect holiday!'
Debbie H.
'The Halong Bay cruise on the Emeraude was fantastic, the stand-out highlight, and well above our expectations. The ship was beautiful, the cabins great, and the food and service amongst the best of the trip. All helped of course by the stunning backdrop of Halong Bay. Other highlights were Mui Ne (and Co Co Beach Resort), the old streets and market of Hoi An, the mausoleums, temples and citadel of Hue, and the French-inspired architecture of Hanoi. The Vietnamese people were also charming.'

'Thank you, Viet Nam was an enormous learning experience for all of us. Going on a tour was also the best idea! With teenagers and a 10 year old in tow it was fantastic to have everything organized ahead of time. We saw many things we had never seen before, really enjoyed the friendly and always ready with a smile Vietnamese and thoroughly enjoyed their delicious food. Thank you very much for arranging Kelly's birthday cake, it was a big hit!'

Hi Nick
I wouldn't normally do this but I had planned to drop you a line and let you know that everything was great and even better than that frequently! We had just the most fantastic time on our travels in Vietnam.
Everything went incredibly smoothly, all our guides and drivers were really great, we felt genuinely welcomed and nothing was too much trouble for any of them. Some of their personal histories, which they chose to share with us were particularly interesting and moving, it really made me appreciate my personal circumstances.
We were talking on the plane(s) on the way home and without exception everything had more than met our expectations. I for one can't wait to go back again. As to the photos I'm sure you really don't want all 230 of them, but when I've had chance to download them I'll send a couple in for the web site.
Thanks for organising what for me, has been a very memorable two weeks.
