    Cambodia Holiday and Travel Reviews

    Backstreets of Chhlong, central Cambodia

We recognise the financial expense of a holiday in Asia, as well as the time it can take to plan your perfect trip. From initial consultation and planning, right through to the day you return, Selective Asia staff will strive to ensure that every moment and every detail is just right.

'Phil hit the spot with our requirements - a combination of relaxation, sightseeing and luxury. His regular contact via phone or e-mail was excellent'
    Kate V.

'I just wanted to thank you for your help in organizing a fabulous honeymoon. The organization was flawless and we really had a great time.

I will email some photos soon. Once again many thanks.'
    Hadi M.

There are so many hotels to choose from in Cambodia and so many websites offer conflicting advice and often fake or misleading reviews. Our staff have been there, personally inspected the hotels, and often slept in the beds.

'The hotels were all splendid, vastly exceeding our expectations'
    Judy C.

'All of the accommodation was as described by Lionel when deciding on where to stay and if anything surpassed already high expectations.'
    Graham S.

Perhaps the most important key to a successful holiday in Cambodia is ensuring that your guide will hit the spot, being there with a wealth of vital information when required, fading into the background when not.

'Cambodian guides were brilliant, political and historical info in Siem Reap awesome and personal insight in Phnom Penh fascinating.'
    Kate V.

'Guides were friendly, gave lots of tips and hints and knew the right times to make visits to miss the crowds.'
    Richard F.

'Each guide with their own personalities, knowledge and experiences enhanced our own experience of each place greatly! Having local guides was invaluable. Our guide around Angkor Wat was superb-Sokun, he was obviously v experienced, and remained enthusiastic throughout despite it being his millionth trip there!!'

    Sarah F

' I’m so glad we took Phil’s advice and had an extra day in Phnom Penh. We loved the city and met many people along the way who were just passing through…we couldn’t help but feel we’d had the more rounded holiday..'

James D. (Phnom Penh and Angkor)

'My highlights of things that were on the agenda has to be Angkor Wat but things I wasn't expecting were the tuk-tuk rides - I loved them! I would really consider living in Cambodia if I could I loved it that much'

    Gareth H. (Cambodia Tailor-made Holiday)

'Cambodia was a bit of a mixed bag for us. We loved the people and much of what we saw. The temples at Angkor are incredible, albeit a little busy at times, and the beach in Sihanoukville was superb for a few days of doing nothing (there was also a great curry house which pleased me no end – you can take the Brit out of the UK but you can’t etc etc..)
What wasn’t right about it? Probably us in all honesty, we found any evidence of the Khmer troubles a little hard to deal with. We’re incredibly glad we did what we did and when we did it but it’s just taking a while for it all to sink in!
Thanks for an extremely well organised and professional holiday; it won’t be the last you see of us.'

    David C. (Tailor-made Holiday Cambodia)

'There’s not many things that can drag me out of bed at 4.30 am, but getting to Angkor Watt before anyone else for sunrise was enough for me to leap out of my guest house and jump into the back of a tuk-tuk when I heard our guide “Mr Poohy’ knocking. An exhilarating ride journey through pitch black jungle only added to the excitement of arriving at the temples. Mr Poohy lead me through the dense flora where we settled at a spot on the edge of the jungle, all I could see through the jungle mist was a fire flickering and the distant sounds of monks in prayer, as the sun lifted the site of the temples rising was a truly awesome sight. In awe we spent the rest of the day, till the sun set, with our guide exploring the vast areas of jungles and ruins, learning and imagining about the ancient Khmer kingdom. Driving back through a bustling Siem Reap that evening, I was still buzzing from the day’s activities, when we were dropped back at the hotel for some well earned amok fish (a local delicacy not to be missed) – the best thing was that I knew I would have to go back tomorrow and explore some more!'
