Specials
Airlines release ‘specials’ throughout the year and it is usual practise for each airline to follow each others lead so as to stay competitive. These fares can be impressively low however availability is usually very poor and therefore it is not necessarily advisable to hold out for these fares if you are very particular about your travelling dates.
All airports charge a departure tax, usually consisting of an airport authorities charge and a government tax. The actual cost will vary from one country to another as well as the point of collection. Some countries require them to be included in the cost of your flight ticket and some require you to pay them upon departure.
Since 2004 airlines have begun to add 'fuel surcharges' to the price of their tickets in order to combat the rising cost of aviation fuel which has risen at an alarming rate. Rather than include these additional costs in the ticket price the airlines have chosen to add them as an additional fuel surcharge
